Richard A. Moran, Chairman
Rich Moran is a San Francisco-based venture capitalist, social scientist, author and evangelist for organization effectiveness. He has over 25 years experience in Silicon Valley, and has worked as a Partner in Accenture and Venrock.
Rich is a General Partner in Irish Technology Capital (ITC), a VC fund for both startups and existing businesses in Ireland and Silicon Valley, and he is also Vice Chairman of Accretive Solutions, a global consulting firm. He serves on the boards of Mechanics Bank and of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and has also served on various boards including the Craigslist Foundation, Glu Mobile, TurnHere and Integreon.
He is known for his series of humorous business books, beginning with the bestselling "Never Confuse a Memo with Reality", and is credited with starting the genre of "business bullet books". His newest book, "Sins and CEOs", was published in 2011. Rich has been featured on NPR, Fast Company, GigaOm, and various other media publications. His popular commentaries "In the Workplace" are heard weekly on KCBS Radio.
John Breslin, Founder and Director
John Breslin established New Tech Post in the summer of 2010. He works as a tenured academic in NUI Galway, and is a lead researcher with DERI, the world's largest Semantic Web research institute. He is also co-author of the book "The Social Semantic Web", published by Springer in 2009. John is General Chair for the AAAI ICWSM-12 social media research conference. He is creator of the SIOC framework which aims to interlink online communities with semantics, used in Yahoo! SearchMonkey, Drupal 7 and the Newsweek website.
In 1998, John set up an Internet forum to discuss video games which evolved into boards.ie, one of Ireland's largest indigenous websites with over 35M monthly page views and 2.25M monthly visitors in 2011. He serves as a non-executive director with boards.ie Ltd., and is co-founder of its spin-off company Adverts Marketplace Ltd. He has received a number of awards for his web work, including a Golden Spider award and two IIA Net Visionary awards.
In 2011, John co-founded StreamGlider, a visual real-time dashboard for tracking interests across various types of devices, along with Nova Spivack and Bill McDaniel. He is also an advisor to some social media companies including CrowdGather LLC and Social Bits. He has been interviewed or cited by various media sources including New Scientist, Computer, PC World, The Sunday Times and RTÉ.
Tom
Murphy, Founder and Director
Tom Murphy started writing about the social and technological space for New Tech Post in 2011, and his contribution comes from years of experience making filmic sense out of chaotic real-time events. He has worked as a producer/cameraperson specializing in current affairs and documentaries, filming in many different environments, hostile and otherwise, throughout the world. Tom has worked with various television groups including Disney/ABC (on ABC's Nightline), CBS, HDNet and NHK.
Some highlights were covering the first moments of the fall of the Berlin Wall at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on 9 November 1989; assignments in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia; and in-depth coverage of the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan, including time spent in the Korengal Valley and in Helmand Province with the American military forces. More recently, he received a Polk Award for secretly filming in Burma in the aftermath of the Saffron Revolution. Tom has also won multiple Emmy Awards for his work.

Hartnett, Director
In addition to being a Director of New Tech Post, John Hartnett is President and Founder of the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG), Chairman of the Irish Innovation Center (IIC), and Chairman and Founder of Irish Technology Capital (ITC). Previously, John was Senior Vice President of Global Markets at Palm, Inc., where he was responsible for worldwide sales, service and support. Prior to this, John was Executive Vice President at Handspring, Inc. with responsibility for worldwide operations, service, support and e-commerce.
He has over 20 years of senior management experience across sales, marketing, and operations in the US and Ireland. His career in high tech boasts some of the industry’s leading companies such as Handspring, Metacreations, Claris, AT&T, Digital Equipment, and Wang. Since 2004, John has been annually honored as one of the top 100 Irish American business executives in the US by Irish America Magazine. He is a member of the Wireless Advisory Board in the US for Enterprise Ireland.
John earned a marketing degree through the Marketing Institute of Ireland, a post-graduate diploma in finance through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and completed the executive management program at Stanford University. He is a native of Limerick, and on the board of the University of Limerick Foundation. John is a member of The American Ireland Fund and the US-Ireland Alliance.

Stanton, Director
John Stanton is a Director of New Tech Post and is the President of the Irish Innovation Center (IIC), dedicated to the growth of Irish technology startups in Silicon Valley. He also serves as Executive Director of the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG), a non-profit aimed at helping Ireland embrace new technology opportunities. In addition, John is a member of the Irish Technology Capital (ITC) management team investing in market-changing, early-stage, high-growth companies.
John has amassed a wide variety of technology and entrepreneurial experience over his 25-year career. Prior to joining the IIC in 2010, John served as President of MarketMinds, a consultancy firm he founded dedicated to bringing new products to market. He also served as Founder and CEO of CubeGuard, a simple but elegant office productivity tool for preventing interruptions and communicating availability status to coworkers.
Prior to founding his own companies, John served at Palm as Vice President of Product Marketing, Vice President of Mobile Software and Services, and Vice President Customer Support and E-Commerce. Previous to that, he held various leadership positions with several top technology companies in Silicon Valley including: Apple, Intuit, Hewlett Packard and Eclipse, a highly-successful supply chain consulting firm where he played a key leadership role in building the company's double- and triple-digit growth.
