About

New Tech Post, a web-based publisher, is navigating new horizons in technology, business, mobile, video and social media. Its mission is to cover the next phase of the Web, making it accessible to both tech and non-tech readers alike. It will do so by producing evergreen articles which are both positive and inspirational while maintaining editorial independence. After nine months of regular articles, readership has already reached over 8000 unique digital influencers.

Galway is currently the center of the universe in terms of the next phase of the Web. Over the last five years, DERI at NUI Galway has established itself internationally as one of the world's leading research institutes on the Semantic Web. The founders of the New Tech Post are respected members within the Semantic Web community (both are members of the Semantic Web 100). Being physically on the ground in Galway, with unprecedented access to key players within this field on a day-to-day basis, ensures that the New Tech Post's coverage will be unique in its offering.

New Tech Post has recently opened up a second office in San Jose, at the heart of Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley is the centre of the universe for the subject matter of our articles, and we plan to have regular reports coming from the Valley through our office at the Irish Innovation Center.

New Tech Post aims to provide:

  • A positive view of technological developments in the online world.
  • A place where interested parties can contribute to articles.
  • Some emerging and useful ideas that readers would find inspiring at some level.

New Tech Post was formerly known as socialmedia.net, and is owned by Social Media Ltd., a limited company registered in Ireland (company number 482512) in March 2010. The founders are John Breslin and Tom Murphy.
